Officer for language courses and examinations

The Goethe-Institut Cyprus has a vacancy for a language-course and examination officer at an employment level of 100% (40 hours/week) as of 1 April 2022, initially for a period of two years.

The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with worldwide operations. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. In addition, we convey a comprehensive picture of Germany by providing information about its cultural, social and political life.

Duties:
– Implementation of the regional strategy and conceptual development of the language-course and examination portfolio in cooperation with the head of language department/institute
– Organisation and regular evaluation of language courses and examinations
– Adaptation and further development of the language-course portfolio including the design and implementation of online and blended-learning courses and digital media in instruction
– Development and implementation of marketing concepts for the expansion of language courses and examinations in Cyprus (including information events for learners of German and parents at schools, education fairs and conferences)
– Quality assurance through regular observation and consultation of teachers and examiners, implementation of further-training measures
– Acquisition and training of new teachers according to the guidelines of the Goethe-Institut
– Implementation of further-training events for German teachers and multipliers at schools, universities and other organisations
– Providing instruction and conducting examinations, if needed

Requirements:
– A university degree in German as a foreign language or German studies or linguistics as well as solid teaching and examination experience
– highly-developed knowledge and experience in the use of digital media in teaching
– solid experience in dealing with modern office organisation/ communication
– Knowledge and experience in marketing and customer acquisition
– Strong social and intercultural competence
– High operational readiness and resilience
– Excellent German language skills at C 2 level
– Very good English and good knowledge of Greek and experience in the cultural area

Am Goethe-Institut Zypern ist zum 1. April 2022 oder früher die Stelle einer/eines Beauftragten für Sprachkurse und Prüfungen mit Beschäftigungsumfang von 100% (40 Std/Woche) zunächst für zwei Jahre zu besetzen.

Das Goethe-Institut ist das weltweit tätige Kulturinstitut der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Wir fördern die Kenntnis der deutschen Sprache im Ausland und pflegen die internationale kulturelle Zusammenarbeit. Darüber hinaus vermitteln wir ein umfassendes Deutschlandbild durch Information über das kulturelle, gesellschaftliche und politische Leben.

Ihr Aufgabengebiet:
– Umsetzung der Regionalstrategie und konzeptionelle Fortentwicklung des Sprachkurs- und Prüfungsportfolios in Zusammenarbeit mit der Leitung Spracharbeit/Institutsleitung
– Organisation und regelmäßige Evaluierung des Sprachkurs- und Prüfungsbetriebs
– Anpassung und Weiterentwicklung des Sprachkursportfolios einschließlich Konzeption und Implementierung von Online-Kursen und Blended-Learning Kursen und digitalen Medien im Unterricht
– Erstellung und Umsetzung von Marketingkonzepten für die Ausweitung des Sprachkurs- und Prüfungsbetriebs in Zypern (unter anderem  Informationsveranstaltungen für Deutschlerner und Eltern an Schulen, bei Messen und Konferenzen)
– Qualitätssicherung durch regelmäßige Hospitationen und Beratungen der Lehrkräfte  und Prüfer*innen, Durchführung von Fortbildungsmaßnahmen
– Akquise und Ausbildung neuer Lehrkräfte nach den Richtlinien des Goethe-Instituts
– Durchführung von Fortbildungsveranstaltungen für Deutschlehrkräfte  und Multiplikator*innen an Schulen, Hochschulen und anderen Organisationen
– Erteilung von Unterricht und Durchführung von Prüfungen bei Bedarf

Anforderungen und Kenntnisse:
– Abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium in Deutsch als Fremdsprache oder Germanistik oder Sprachwissenschaft sowie solide Unterrichts-und Prüfungserfahrung
– Ausgeprägte Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen im Einsatz digitaler Medien im Unterricht
– Ausgeprägte Erfahrungen im Umgang mit moderner Büroorganisation/ -kommunikation
– Kenntnisse und Erfahrungen in Marketing und Kundenakquisition
– Ausgeprägte soziale und interkulturelle Kompetenz
– Hohe Einsatzbereitschaft und Belastbarkeit
– Hervorragende Deutschkenntnisse auf C 2 – Niveau
– Erwünscht sehr gute Englischkenntnisse und gute Griechisch-Kenntnisse und Kulturraumerfahrung
