We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Accounting to lead our accounting department. This role involves overseeing general ledger activities, managing financial controls, guiding the accounting team, meet specified deadlines, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep technical accounting knowledge, and a proactive approach to process improvement and financial oversight.

Key responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

• Preparation of accounting records for a portfolio of clients and be responsible for the correctness of the information presented
• Preparation of bank reconciliations
• Preparation of reconciliations of debtors and creditors balances
• Preparation of VAT and VIES returns for a portfolio of clients on a quarterly basis
• Review of VAT Returns provided from clients
• Train and review work of the other accounting members.
• Communicate with the client in order to ensure the completeness of information provided
• Processing of payroll for clients
• Payment of Social Insurance and PAYE on behalf of the clients
• Preparation and submission of the TD7
• Work alongside the audit department for the coordination of the audit procedure.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree, or holder of CAT or AAT Qualification
• At least 5 years prior experience in an accounting and audit firm
• Excellent knowledge of Greek and English languages both verbal and written
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Computer Literate with focus on the MS office, and the accounting system E-soft
• Pleasant personality and professional attitude

Remuneration:

• A generous remuneration package will be offered to the successful applicants according to qualifications and experience.
