Junior Accounts Officer

UCLan Cyprus, one of the fastest-developing universities in Cyprus, is seeking to expand its Accounting and Finance team and invites applications for the position of Junior Accounts Officer.

UCLan Cyprus is located in Larnaka, and it is now in its twelfth year of operation. It is the first Branch Campus of the University of Central Lancashire and at the same time a fully licensed University in Cyprus. A unique and innovative model of a Cypriot and British University Educational Experience, accredited by the UK Quality Assurance Agency and the Cyprus Agency of Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education (CYQAA) respectively.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage accurate sales and purchase ledgers, including supplier payments and student income.
  • Maintain and update the receipt register.
  • Support student financial services by addressing inquiries and issues regarding student financial support.
  • Collect Student fees.
  • Conduct reconciliations related to the collection of fees.
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UCLan Cyprus and manage associated reconciliations and records.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting or a related field, or CAT qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance department of a commercial organization or higher education institution.
  • Excellent command of both Greek and English languages.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and internet usage.
  • Hands-on experience in managing Sales, Purchase, and General Ledgers.
  • Demonstrated experience in assisting and supporting senior management teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and knowledge of the regulatory regime in Cyprus are considered advantageous.

Gross annual salary: €16,000
