The Karaiskakio Foundation is a non-profit organization with a distinguished presence in the humanitarian and scientific fields in Cyprus for over 30 years.
Evolving into a world-class multidisciplinary centre, the Foundation specializes in hematology, oncology, cancer genetics, and the study of rare and genetic diseases.
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Accounting Officer to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-established organisation, contribute to meaningful work, and develop professionally within a supportive and experienced team.
Location: Karaiskakio Foundation, Nicosia, Cyprus
Department: Finance & Accounting
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 2-5 years of proven experience in a similar accounting role
- Strong knowledge of VAT declarations, Intrastat, and VIES reporting
- Experience with bank reconciliations and general ledger management
- Good understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Very good knowledge of Greek and English, both written and spoken
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (considered an advantage)
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional qualification (LCCI Higher, CAT, ACA/ACCA or equivalent) or working towards one
- Prior experience in a non-profit or charitable organisation
- Familiarity with non-profit accounting practices
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Record accounting transactions and maintain accurate accounting records
- Process supplier invoices, receipts and payments
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Reconcile customer, supplier, and general ledger accounts
- Prepare and submit Intrastat, VIES, and VAT declarations
- Assist with payroll and other finance administration when required
- Support monthly and annual account closing processes
- Collaborate with external auditors and other partners as required
- Carry out day-to-day tasks as assigned
