Job Description:

A successful candidate will follow Hellas Sat’s training program in Greece and/or Cyprus in order to be ready to join a multi-skilled shift team for monitoring, operating and supporting our satellite fleet.

Working on shifts the operator will perform routine operational tasks, prepare reports, and follow predefined escalation procedures and coordinate with chief engineers to resolve service anomalies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Satellite Monitoring.
  • Prepare routine and contingency satellite operations.
  • Actively participate in satellite contingency resolution endeavours.
  • Report all satellite issues/variances to chief engineers and head of the team.
  • Ensure Incident Management ticketing system is updated with correct resolutions and closure codes to promote continual improvement of the troubleshooting process.
  • Assist in developing the fleet orbit maintenance strategy and implement it through the execution of the required tasks.
  • Leverage knowledge and experience to analyse and process satellite performance trend data with the aim of optimizing the utilization of the satellite fleet.
  • Report on the results of executed operations, on satellite issues/variances, on performance trend and satellite overall health.
  • Perform other tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a recognised University in any of the following: Aerospace Engineering / Space Technologies / Mechanical Engineering / Physics / Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
  • Fluency in English. Any other language is considered as an advantage.
  • Excellent writing, editing, presentation and organization skills.
  • Excellent/Good command of MS Office package (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio)
  • Experience with Unix / Linux systems
  • Experience with Satellite Communication Baseband or Network Management not mandatory but it will be considered as an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work openly, supportively and efficiently, within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated, diligent, proactive and well organized.
  • Ability to execute several tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to operate under pressure and in a stressful environment.
  • Adhere to delivery schedules and manage time accordingly.
  • Able to handle shift rotations, including nights, weekends and holidays.
