Job vacancy: CAARI Library Collections Manager

Located in Nicosia, Cyprus, the Cyprus American Archaeological Research Institute (CAARI) is an important center for the scholarly study of archaeology, history and culture in the Eastern Mediterranean. Scholars from these and other academic disciplines and all nationalities come together under our roof to share multidisciplinary approaches and research findings.

Affiliated with ASOR and the Council of American Overseas Research Centers (CAORC), CAARI offers world-class resources through our comprehensive library of materials relating to Cyprus and adjacent geographic regions. Visiting students and scholars can find living quarters as well as technical and logistical support facilities. The Center hosts lectures, seminars and symposia for professional and lay audiences. We also offer fellowship opportunities for students and established senior scholars.

CAARI seeks a dynamic collaborator to serve as its Library Collections Manager. Under the direction and supervision of the Director, the CAARI Library Collections Manager (LCM) performs tasks that reflect the multi-faceted use of the Institute’s Library. The LCM maintains the research library collection and its facility, processing materials and assisting CAARI’s users in locating resources for their research. The LCM assists with the planning and execution of CAARI’s academic program including a lecture series and annual workshop. The LCM assists efforts to keep CAARI’s web presence current by updating its website and uploading approved posts to various social media platforms.

This is a part-time 30.5 hour per week position (75%). The LCM maintains office hours every weekday (Monday–Friday), each morning 8.30am–1pm and 8.30–5pm two days a week. The specific work afternoons will be decided between the Director and the successful candidate. Additional weekend work may be required on occasion. The salary will be commensurate with experience.
