Procurement Department Manager

In the context of continuous growth and upgrade of its services, DIMCO is seeking to recruit an experienced Procurement Department Manager to manage the Department’s Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the department’s strategy according to the company’s guidelines and plans
  • Undertake the restructuring and redevelopment of the department. Holistic analysis regarding existing needs in human resources and procedures and suggestions for further improvement and development
  • Able to proceed with long-term plans (3-5 years orientation)
  • Represent the company in negotiating contracts and formulating policies with suppliers
  • Develop cost reduction strategies and saving plans
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, and procedures
  • Direct and coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Locate vendors or supplies, and interview them to determine product availability and terms of sales
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment
  • Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding bids
  • Establish and monitor purchasing department budgets
  • Review purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to products certifications
  • Resolve vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received
  • Analyze market
  • Prepare reports regarding market conditions
  • Responsible for the efficient management of an experienced group of professionals. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the daily management of Purchasing/Product/Import Departments

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Business Administration or Electrical Engineering or in a related field
  • Master’s degree in MBA or in related field would be considered as an advantage
  • 7+ years of experience in managing Purchasing/Product departments
  • Experience in the Lighting and/or Electrical industry will be considered an important advantage
  • Knowledge of SAP Business One will be considered an important advantage

  • Able to work under pressure
  • Fluent in English and Greek languages (written and spoken)
