1.  Guests Relations Officer

JOB PURPOSE

The Guest Relations Officer will take part in the public relations activities and will promote the Hotel’s public relations both within and outside the Hotel in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering the highest possible standards of service to Guests, VIPs and repeat Guests from their arrival until the minute they depart. He/she will also be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving the department’s profitability in accordance with Hotel policies, procedures and standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To understand who are the customers, both external (Hotel guests) and internal (all Hotel employees), their expectations and needs, establish and maintain relationship/rapport through service and over the long term.
  • To know, implement and participate in the Hotel’s vision and objectives as described in the written procedures of the Hotel.
  • To seek and action customer feedback at every opportunity and learn from complaints.
  • To ensure the actions, duties and opening and closing duties are carried out in accordance with the pre-set procedures.
  • To provide a friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
  • To perform the duties with maximum efficiency and in the most productive manner, following the department’s induction and training program and do not hesitate to ask questions regarding the execution of her/his duties.
  • To deputise, assist and support the Guest Relations Manager in his/her duties.
  • To ensure the daily supervision of all subordinates ensuring that their actions, duties and opening & closing duties are carried out in accordance with the pre-set procedures.
  • To ensure that all department logbooks/checklists are updated daily and signed.
  • To sense guest needs and quickly respond to maximum satisfaction.
  • To demonstrate thorough knowledge and ability in the execution of all required daily Guest Relations work as well as the steps of the customer journeys during operational hours.
  • To understand all room and floor layouts, package combinations, service and methods of presentation of all products and facilities available.
  • To co-ordinate resources to ensure that all possible Guest Relations issues are efficiently resolved.
  • To check arrivals and departures of the day and to welcome guests with her pleasant personality on their arrival and bid farewell when they leave.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  1. Graduate of a Hotel Management or Marketing school.
  2. At least one year’s previous experience in a similar position.
  3. Must speak and write English very well, knowledge of an additional language will be considered as an advantage.
  4. Organisational and Managerial skills.
  5. Responsible and able to present results.
  6. Very good communication skills.
  7. Pleasant and friendly personality, fair, reliable and polite.

2. Barman/ Barwoman

JOB PURPOSE:

The Barman/Barwoman will ensure the smooth running of the Bars, making sure that all food, drinks, cocktails and beverages are prepared and served correctly, promptly and in the most efficient and effective manner. He/she will deliver the highest possible standards of service to guests, through continuous training, and will also be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving the Bars profitability in accordance with Hotel policies, procedures, and standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To implement correct hotel service standards, monitor and thrive for continuous improvement.
  • To project a positive, professional and friendly image to the guests and employees.
  • To monitor all Bar activities by actively participating in the service and be vigilantly attentive to service details and all produce quality.
  • To inspect  Bar daily (front and back) to ensure cleanliness, physical condition and functioning equipment.
  • To keep the work station well organised and neat.
  • To understand the ingredients, origins, combinations, methods of preparation, presentation and service of all food products, hot and cold drinks, wines, cocktails, other speciality drinks and cigars served.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  1. Graduate of a secondary school of Hotel Management or Hotel and Catering School, specialising in bartending.
  2. Two years’ experience in similar post.
  3. Pleasant and friendly personality.
  4. Good knowledge of spoken and written English is essential. Other languages are considered an additional advantage.
  5. Good communication skills.

4. Night Receptionist

JOB PURPOSE

The Night Receptionist will serve Guests’ needs and will balance the Front Office computerised system. He will also perform the general check of the shift and ensure the smooth running of the Reception during the night, in the most efficient and effective manner, delivering the highest possible standards of service to all Guests. He will also be pro-active in maintaining and/or improving the department’s profitability in accordance with Hotel policies, procedures and standards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To understand who are the customers, both external (Hotel guests) and internal (all Hotel employees), their expectations and needs, establish and maintain relationship/rapport through service and over the long term.
  • To seek and action customer feedback at every opportunity and learn from complaints.
  • To ensure the actions, duties and opening and closing duties are carried out in accordance with the pre-set procedures.
  • To handle the guests’ arrivals and departures still pending, according to departmental procedures, and record / report any changes or divergence to the guests folios.
  • To input all guest information as stated on the registration cards filled in upon arrival in the Front Office computerised system.
  • To inform the superiors about incidents, observations and developments that affect Guests, the Hotel’s activities and his post.
  • To co-ordinate effectively with the related/dependent departments through constant contact about speed of service, availability, popularity and inter-relations.
  • To ensure that strict cost control measures are in place and adhered to in terms of storage areas, stock rotation and that new orders are in line with departmental costs and business levels

  • At least two year’s previous experience in a similar position
