HEAD OF FINANCIAL REPORTING & UNIT ACOUNTING DEPARTMENT
EUROLIFE Insurance Company of the Bank of Cyprus Group would like to receive applications from experienced applicants for the above position in the Nicosia Region.
The preparation of the Company’s Financial Statements and the overview of the correct and timely accounting recording of the Company’s financial investment activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Financial Strategy
Represents the Accounting Function in meetings with other departments and ensures that the decisions take into account the accounting impact.
Participates in Company-wide profitability studies/analyses
Analyses financial results of competitors
Participates in all tasks required for the preparation of the Company Budget.
- ALM Reporting
Prepares reports for asset monitoring
- Liquidity management
Prepares reports for liquidity monitoring
Coordinates and checks the correct and timely recording of accounting activities which relate to investments
Coordinates and checks the weekly price calculations
Checks all work required to quarterly account preparation which relates to investments
- Financial Statements/ Reporting (Financial, Management, Statutory)
Prepares the Financial Statements for the Company, its subsidiaries and the Greek branch
Prepares quarterly and annual financial statements and reports required for internal and external purposes (e.g. management accounts, statistics, BOC, CB)
Participates in the preparation of supervisory reports in accordance with Insurance Laws and Regulations (including the Solvency Capital Requirement – asset side)
- Tax issues
Tax income computation
Preparation of Tax Statements
- Solvency II
Participates in all necessary tasks required in the Solvency II Road Map for the full implementation of Solvency II Participates in all necessary exercises required before Solvency II implementation to ensure full Company compliance
- Policies and Processes
Ensures that all departmental policies and processes have been properly notified
- Operational resource and risk management to ensure Compliance with the Legal Framework governing the Company
Monitors the daily management of operational resources for the proper and efficient functioning of the department
Knows the Legal Framework governing the operation of the Company in so far as it affects the Accounting function
Ensures that all officers under their supervision are able to recognize, identify and record any risk associated with their departmental operating procedures
Carries out any task assigned by the General Manager or the Finance Manager

Excellent knowledge of Accounting Standards
Good knowledge of investments(recognition and valuation)
Good knowledge of the Insurance Market and Insurance Products
Excellent knowledge of the accounting systems SUN/ICON
Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel και Powerpoint
Excellent knowledge (oral and written) of the Greek and English languages
Ability to create reports (both in concise and detailed format) for presentation to the Company’s senior management
Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Economics / Accounting / Maths / Statistics or other related field
Professional Title in Accounting (ACA / ACCA / CPA)
At least 3 years of life insurance experience
Prior experience in personnel management will be considered as an advantage.
